S.HI.V.A

triccc-Reprise shiva2 (1)

S.Hi.V.A is a rotatory hinge knee prosthesis offering an important modularity. It has been designed to respond to complex operatory situations. S.Hi.V.A allows the surgeon to take care of large joint instabilities and important bone losses.

CONDYLE

A wide, anatomical trochlea, without rough edges, allows a smooth patellar track.

Adjustable femoral extension stems

The prosthetic condyle can be fitted with extension stems of 3 lengths and 5 different diameters.
The stem position is adjustable preoperatively in the frontal plane (varus setting between 3 and 7) as well as in the sagittal plane (maximal translation of 8mm).

Femoral bone compensation spacers

In case of important losses of bone matter, metallic spacers of different thicknesses can be fitted to the S.Hi.V.A hinge. It is thus possible to add distal femoral and posterior femoral spacers.

TIBIAL TRAY

A modular tibial tray of a size independent to the condyle allows to better adjust the prothetic space requirement.

Rotatory mobility

The rotatory bearing diminishes interface strains and helps reaching a maximal congruence with the condyle during flexion and extension.

Adjustable tibial extension stem

The tibial tray can also be fitted with extension stems of 3 lengths and 5 different diameters.
Their position is adjustable in translation (+/- 6mm) in the frontal plane.

Tibial bone compensation spacers

In case of important losses of bone matter, metallic spacers of different thicknesses can be fitted to the S.Hi.V.A hinge. Tibial bone compensation spacers of to compensate important losses while preserving tissues and respecting the patient’s anatomy. The metal-back cup is made of chrome-cobalt. This biomaterial has better wear characteristics with polyethylene than other biocompatible alloys. The ADES metal-back cup was specially designed produce an amplitude of more than 130 and to increase the load-bearing surface with the polyethylene insert during physical exercise such as walking, standing etc.
Cement less ADES and ADES+: the outer surface of the ace tabular cups has tow layers: a rough plasma layer of 200 um Cr-Co and a 100 um layer of hydroxyaptite to help secondary fixation.
During reconstruction or first intention surgery with uncertain press-fit primary fixation, the ADES+ ace tabular cup makes extra-cotyloid fixation possible using an iliac screw and tow pegs screwed info the public horn and the ischium. Cemented ADES: the outer surface of the ace tabular cup has grooves that receive the cement .
